old skool street stylin
Ok, since i’ve been skating again it’s all been at bowls and ramps - this is fine, it’s what I want to skate mainly, but whilst watching my free Sidewalk sponsored Osiris DVD, which I sent off for like a grommet along with about 30,000 other freeloaders, amongst the handrail after handrail after handrail sequences was a street sequence with two people who looked like they were actually enjoying themselves. They were throwing a few relatively old school moves too - no-complies, plus boneless style things (probably a bad description - I never remember trick names, especially variations). It occured to me - I can do those! or at least I could once. More to the point I want to. As soon as possible, hopefully tonight.
I think a bit of flatland and bank stuff will help me regain some of the balance I once had - I still feel a bit unwieldy even just skating around on the flat - it’s not surprising that I bail a lot on tricks I could probably ride out of when i’m on a mini ramp.
I also think I need to practice my ollies. So if the rain holds off, i’m off to the deaner tonight.
