I promise to stop going on about wheels soon..

code wheels

but not today :-) I’m back on harder wheels for the commute today, spotted some 95a code (uk company) wheels, going for £10 yesterday lunchtime in the window of Sharkbite on Park Row and couldn’t resist it. The maiden voyage was actually in the rain and happy to report that they seemed to have plenty of grip, but not so my shoes.

On smooth tarmac they fly, rough tarmac they dont (no news there then). Haven’t done much sliding, but they seem to be about right*. One added advantage for commuting on hard wheels is that people hear you coming, even those wearing earphones and people on the phone.

Got an email from MAS Wayne, he is making another longboard and has offered it to me when it is is finished. I’m stoked, probably will put some big Kryps on it, and might put my current 6" 9" (I found out the other day that trucks are measured from the ends of the axles, not just the width of the hanger) indys on it and get some new ones for my "short" board (is that what I call it now?).

*actually I can barely get them to slide at all - maybe because they are so new and still have those ridges
