horse bowl
yesterday was a bumper skate jamboree for your scribe. Taking advantage of a skate pass, bob gave me a lift to hengrove to skate the horsey bowl, then we went off to St george for a bit of longboarding (my first time skating st george properley - perfect for longboarding, but avoid sunday afternoons if you don’t like playing frogger). People were ripping the park up, including the new vert wall.
then it was back to hengrove in time to watch a cheesy hollywood skate flick. managed another quick run or two in the horsey bowl before the film started - felt good to be back on my hoppy skippy little steed after riding the big Buffalo round st george, and i’ll be darned if my truck didn’t kiss the coping on a frontside kickturn for the first time in that bowl.
Lords of Dogtown was actually much more entertaining than I expected, but no oscar winner. I think it will bomb at the cinema as it is only likley to appeal to skaters and teenage girls. Worth catching on dvd for a rainy afternoon though…
